Christian rock explosion Christian rock has seen explosive growth in this country and around the world in the past few years. In Australia, where no distinction is made between Christian rock and the other fair, the Christian rock hit, "Gloria", has been at the top of the charts for over 15 weeks. Rock, rap, and even heavy metal have found a voice in Jesus. One of the most popular Christian rock radio stations in this area is "Shine 89" hosted by Olivet Nazarene University. In addition to playing contemporary Christian rock, the station pursues outreach by hosting concerts and meeting with local church groups.
